When in Doubt, go Republican

The two party system, although there have been other parties in the presidential race, has been a system that so far, it has satisfied the American thirst for democracy, understood as the platform where all can express their views and have their will counted.

Both parties have contributed to the welfare of the nation; both have produced important individuals that have contributed to the forming of this formidable nation.

But we are in testing times in our international relations, where terror pretends to disguise itself as justice and tyranny as democracy.  On these times, being assertive is more important than being fair; strength more desirable than compassion (not meaning that there should be any absence of those important attributes).

Never, except in WWI and WWII have we been targeted as a defined evil nation to so many societies.  From Taliban and extremists Muslims to would be national heroes such Chavez, Morales, Correa and Ortega in South America, we are Evil.  We have to contain these efforts.  We have been doing it, with more assertion at times and less on others.

But if we have any doubt on that respect, lets go Republican.  We can see the difference on a Reagan Presidency versus Carter's;  Bush versus Obama; and we should come to this conclusion: lets go Republican this time.

This does not mean that we cannot give the reins to the Democrats, but we should not do so when the trigger is hot and demands firmness not compliance with the world.
